Tour de Austin (Hotel #3)

Tour de Austin (Hotel #3)

We did a one-nighter in Austin a couple of weeks ago. This time we stayed at the Austin Motel, it is well known for its sign on South Congress. I was a little skeptical,  but it was a nice experience and very Austin. We didn’t take very many pics except for a few of the hotel/motel. We did get to eat at our favorite Mexican place Matt’s El Rancho which made Lorie very happy. We for sure miss South Congress and all it has to offer! (If you haven’t noticed we are trying to try out different scenic hotels around Austin.) Who knows where we will stay next:)

Each room at the Austin Motel is decorated in some interesting theme. We went with the “Zen Room.” I am not sure how “Zen” it was because the air conditioner was super loud. Still a fun experience!

House Updates

House Updates

So I am long over due for writing and posting pics on here. I was honestly waiting until the house was cleaned up from the mess of all of our projects.  The most recent updates include framing out the walls that we knocked out.  Jesse’s good family friend, Bruce Witwer, came over to help. He is such a great craftsman and Jesse is always eager to learn about constructing new things. It will be hard for someone to tell that there were walls there at one time. Jesse and I are so pleased with the results. We also have been trying to purchase new furniture here and there to fill our spaces. Our office is almost finished, we are just trying to figure out the furniture, but it is all painted and ready to go! We are so in love with our home and neighborhood. Katie and Stephen Dotson moved in one street over after their return from Belgium. We are enjoying spending time with our wonderful neighbors…it is just a short walk down the street! Our funniest moment yet was when The Dotsons first moved in and they didn’t have a lawn mower yet. We pushed our lawn mower down the street and the boys did some team work to get both yards looking superb. Katie and I pushed the mower back to our house, we were thinking that it was similar to a stroller?? Too bad we didn’t get pics of that moment. Anyway, we are really enjoying our house. We are thankful for everything God has given us throughout this long process of remodeling. Enjoy some pics below….
