Jesse and I went to NASCAR last weekend thanks to his hook-ups at work. Samsung was sponsoring the race. We sat in Samsung’s suite. I was a little skeptical at first. I thought how redneck do you get going to NASCAR pregnant?? But, sitting in the suite and not being surrounded by your typical redneck folk from TX, it wasn’t so bad. It was nasty weather and rained the whole day. The race was postponed, but it was still a nice experience going to the track and mingling. We pretty much just ate and starred at a blank racetrack. Then, we sat in traffic for 2 hours. Needless to say we had fun and the baby had his first NASCAR experience. (Baby Lyon was 18 weeks at the race!) More to come next week with our big 20 week appointment!!

We are 16 weeks and starting to get bigger! I went to the doctor this week for my 16 week appt. The little guy’s heartbeat was 152, the nurse says he is very active! It took her a second to get him to stay still (sounds like Jesse). Like father, like son. We had gone to a different specialist at 13 weeks when we found out it was a boy, so  my doctor was curious to find out what the sex was. After I told her they said it as a boy, she wanted to tell me a story…oh no! Since I had gone so early to find out….don’t be surprised later if it is a girl. The baby is so small at 13 weeks and it all could be still developing. For those of you that have seen out photo, I am sure it is a boy, but I am not expert:) Anyway, her story was that this couple had found out early on that they were having a boy and showed up for their 20 week appt. to find out they had a healthy daughter! The husband passed out due to the fact they had already decorated the whole nursery. I can’t even imagine the feeling of having to re-do a nursery. I told my doctor not to worry, we have no name, have done no decorating….we only have bought a few clothes. She reassured me that mine wouldn’t necessarily turn out this way, but I will put all buying on hold for a couple more weeks. Either way, boy or girl, Jesse and I thrilled to be having a baby! We are looking forward to seeing him (or possibly her) the first week in May. I have decided to be brave and post a belly pic for those that don’t get to see Jesse and I that often. I am trying to get used to gaining weight…this is new for me! I am feeling great and starting to get over being exhausted. Until next time….
